Jury selection begins for Fayette Street murder trial

(WBNG) -- Opening statements will be begin Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of murder.

Twelve jurors and two alternates were selected Monday for the trial of Jabari Ashe.

Ashe is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Tyquan Gumbs in April 2017.

Gumbs' body was found behind a home on Fayette Street, police say.

Ashe is charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

(WBNG) -- Jury selection is underway for a Brooklyn man charged in a Binghamton murder.

Jabari Ashe, 21, is accused murdering 26-year-old Tyquan Gumbs, who was found dead behind a home on Fayette Street in April 2017.

Police say Gumbs had been shot multiple times.

Ashe was indicted in May 2017 on second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges, both felonies.

Ashe was arrested in Brooklyn.
