BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - 12 Sports spoke with Binghamton Rumble Ponies Assistant General Manager John Bayne Tuesday and there is still no confirmation from the New York Mets or Binghamton Rumble Ponies on the reports Monday stating Tim Tebow would start the 2018 season in a Rumble Ponies uniform.
On if the Ponies saw any added fan excitement from the reports Monday:
"Well, certainly when the news broke yesterday, which turned out to be not an official source, there was a lot of excitement around," said Rumble Ponies Assistant General Manager John Bayne. "Fielded a few more phone calls, people asking a few different questions."
On if the Ponies saw an uptick in ticket sales following the reports Monday:
"They are certainly up a little bit," said Bayne. "People are anticipating that, but again it is unofficial. We don't know what the roster is going to look like. The Mets will announce the entire roster in a few days."
On if the Ponies are excited for the possibility of Tebow starting the season in Binghamton:
"Well, I think for Tim, as well as the other players that (will be) here, it's a great treat." said Bayne. "It's a stepping stone for all the players to get to the next level."

Other teams in the Eastern League have already started promoting when Tim Tebow and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are coming to town.
