BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- In this week's edition of B-Devils Sit-down, head coach Rick Kowalsky joins 12 Sports Director Larry Burneal to preview Friday night's home game against the Laval Rocket.
The Rocket have given up the most goals in the AHL this season, how do you take advantage of their struggles defensively?
"Well I think its still just focusing on our game," said Binghamton Devils head coach Rick Kowalsky. "Obviously, they have had a tough season as well. They have a lot of young guys in the lineup that you have come in from junior college, similar to us maybe more than us, that are looking to prove themselves for next year or earn contracts. So, you know they are going are going to be a hungry team and they just got beat, as we did. We've lost three in a row now, if you go back to last Saturday even though it was overtime. We've played better, but if we want to take a step and continue to grow this year as a group, we should come out with a sense of urgency and a little bit of desperation in our game tonight, because we haven't gotten results the past couple games."
Do you expect Eddie Lack to start in goal tonight or do you have a 36-year-old accountant up your sleeve?
"No, Eddie Lack will get the start tonight," said Kowalsky. "We've signed Cam Johnson as well here. He's a guy who's going to get a look from us. He's under contract for next year and this is what happens this time of year. You get guys in here. You have to make sure you keep guys sharp for potential recalls still. The Devils are in a playoff race, but we also want to get a look at some of these young kids."
