BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Miscues were the story of the game Monday night for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. In a scoreless game in the third inning, Tim Tebow could not come up with a shallow fly ball in left field, allowing Akron to score the first run of the game. In the fourth inning, Akron's Andrew Calica stole second and no one covered the bag, sending Tomas Nido's throw into center field and Calica to third base. The RubberDucks would score three runs in the fourth inning.
Binghamton battled back in the seventh. Nido platted two runs with a bases loaded single to bring the Ponies within one, 4-3. Later in the inning, Tebow came up with the bases loaded again, but Patrick Mazeika was picked off of third base to end the threat. Akron scored two more in the ninth and handed Binghamton it's first loss of the season, 6-3.
Tim Tebow finished the game 1-for-4 with three strikeouts.
Final score: Akron (2-3) - 6, Binghamton (3-1) - 3
