BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- On Monday, the New Jersey Devils added seven B-Devils to their extended playoff roster. Forward Nick Lappin was one of the seven.
Lappin led the B-Devils in goals with 31 this season and finished second in points with 53.
He played in six NHL games, netting one goal while up in New Jersey.
"Lappin had a great year offensively," said Tom Fitzgerald, New Jersey Devils assistant GM and Binghamton Devils GM. "[He's] probably disappointed that he didn't play more NHL games. That doesn't mean he's not a future NHL'er. Again, I think he was a guy who didn't look back on what didn't happened to him in main camp but looked forward to making a statement on what he can be, so he's definitely in the mix for jobs next year."
Prior to Saturday's home finale in Binghamton, Lappin was named Star of the Year, and he said a big chunk of the credit goes to his talented teammates.
"I always like to think of myself as somewhat of a goal scorer," said Lappin. "I got to play with some good players this year, especially my linemates. I have to thank them a lot. It was a good year for me putting the puck in the net."
