Tebow sits, Ponies pounded by Seawolves

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Erie SeaWolves avoided the three-game sweep Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium by pounding the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for seven runs on 15 hits en route to victory, 7-3. Erie scored the first five runs of the game in the third inning. Mike Gibbons made his first career Double-A start for the Rumble Ponies. He lasted 2.1 innings allowing two unearned runs. 

Peter Alonso continued his hot hitting for the Ponies. Alonso went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Tim Tebow was not in the lineup for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. He had started the previous ten games. 

Final score: Erie (6-10) - 7, Binghamton (6-8) - 3 

Binghamton starts a three-game series with New Hampshire at NYSEG Stadium Monday night. First pitch at 6:35 p.m.
