BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Tyler Bashlor notched his third save of the season Monday night for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and extended his scoreless-innings streak to 22.1 with the scoreless ninth inning. The 22.1 innings is every inning he has pitched in a Rumble Ponies uniform. Bashlor, a little superstitious, didn't want to talk about any specific numbers but told 12 Sports about his mentality when he hits the mound.
"Just trying to be as confident as I can, cocky actually on the mound," said Rumble Ponies relief pitcher Tyler Bashlor. "Trying to be as humble as I can off the mound, cocky once I get on it."
"The spin-rate on his fastball is really something that's above-average, so he causes kind of a illusion," said Rumble Ponies manager Luis Rojas. "He gets those swings and misses up in the zone. So he pitches pretty effective up in the zone."
