BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Tim Tebow had an eventful night in the Rumble Ponies loss Tuesday night against New Hampshire, 9-4. Tebow reached base in all four of his plate appearances, but in the outfield, Tebow committed his first fielding error of the season.
At the plate, it was one of Tebow's best games of the young season. He delivered a RBI single in the sixth inning. Then, collected another single in the eighth. In total, Tebow went two-for-two with two walks.
Ponies manager Luis Rojas said after the game they have been working on cutting down on Tebow's strikeouts and it paid off Tuesday night.
"He did a good job today," said Rumble Ponies manager Luis Rojas. "He battled. He was laying off pitches. I think he got on base four times. RBI single, the second one could have been a RBI single too, but maybe a close play at home plate, down by six, we didn't want to take a chance, but quality at-bats. We'll take that at the bottom of the order."
Tebow declined to speak with 12 Sports after the game.
