Ponies hold down Sea Dogs in Portland

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Binghamton Rumble Ponies starter Mickey Jannis fired seven innings and did not allow an earned run. Jannis allowed six hits, no walks and struck out six. The Sea Dogs scored two unearned runs in the first inning, but did not score again in the game. 

Joey Wong tied the game at two in the second inning with a RBI groundout, scoring Patrick Mazeika. 

Binghamton scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning when Kevin Taylor grounded into a double-play with the bases loaded, scoring Levi Michael. 

John Mora collected two hits for the Ponies. 

Tim Tebow finished 0-for-4 with a strikeout, snapping his six-game hitting streak. 

Final score: Binghamton (38-40) - 3, Portland (29-49) - 2

Binghamton and Portland continues its five-game series in Portland Saturday night. First pitch at 6 p.m.
