BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Justin Dunn was not selected as an Eastern League All-Star but has certainly pitched like one since joining the Binghamton Rumble Ponies back in early June.
Through just four starts, Dunn owns a 2.77 ERA with 29 strikeouts and just 11 walks.
The Freeport, New York native actually grew up a Yankees fan but now says he's a Mets fan.
"I grew up a Yankee fan, but I'm a Met fan now," said Dunn with a smile. "I grew up in the 'Core 4' and my dad was a die-hard Yankee fan, so that was the team we shared growing up. It was kind of pushed upon me. I had no real way around it, but I am definitely a Met fan now."
Dunn beat the Yankees Double-A farm team Thursday, and he later told 12 Sports that his dad shot him a text postgame that read, "Keep handing it to [the Yankees] every time you can."
