Longtime Binghamton baseball player Matt Oberste released

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Matt Oberste has been released. The 26-year-old infielder spent the entire 2016 and 2017 seasons in Binghamton and most of this year. In 2016, he was selected to the Eastern League All-Star Team and was named the game's Most Valuable Player after going four-for-five with a double and four RBI. 

Oberste has struggled this season, hitting .185 in 61 games with the Ponies.
