School bus fire in Colesville

COLESVILLE (WBNG) -- Fire officials say there was no one on a bus when it caught fire in the town of Colesville.

According to Harpursville Fire Department, the Harpursville school bus was pulled over at 3 Sova Road Monday afternoon waiting for a mechanic when it went up in flames.

The fire burned for about 10 to 15 minutes before being put out, firefighters say.

It is unclear how many people were being transported by the bus, but fire officials say everyone was off the bus when the fire sparked.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

COLESVILLE (WBNG) -- Crews responded Monday afternoon to school bus fire at a gas station in Colesville.

The Harpursville school bus was located at 3 Sova Road, at Runway Food Mart, just off Exit 5 of Interstate 88.

Broome County dispatchers tell us there was no one on board.

Authorities have not said what caused the fire or if anyone was hurt.
