The Broome County Sheriff's Office says the driver passed out in the lane before hitting the guide rail.

Deputies say 24-year-old Alexis Triplett of Endicott is charged with possession of hypodermic needles, a misdemeanor. She is also charged with failing to maintain driving in one lane.

The two passengers in the car were not charged, according to the sheriff's office.

TOWN OF CHENANGO (WBNG) -- Emergency responders were on the scene of a one-car crash on Route 12 in the town of Chenango.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, it happened around 10 a.m. Tuesday between BelAir Drive and Brook Avenue.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office says all three people in the car, a female driver and two male passengers, were injured and transported to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.

Deputies say the vehicle was seen swerving before crashing into the guide rail. According to the sheriff's office, narcotics were found in the vehicle and people involved will be charged.

"At this point it's still under investigation," said Sgt. Thomas Williams with the Broome County Sheriff's Office. "We're getting charges in. As you know the vehicle did veer off the road. It rolled several times and moderate to severe injuries."

The northbound lane was closed to traffic in that area. NYSDOT employees were directing one lane of alternating traffic.
