CONKLIN (WBNG) -- Schnurbusch Park in Conklin has flooded after heavy rains the past two days.
Approximately one-third of the park is under water, with standing water more than a foot deep in some locations.
The weather on Thursday afternoon was beautiful, so some local residents were still using the park to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
Conklin Town Supervisor William Dumian Jr. was out of town and unavailable to be interviewed, but in a phone call with 12 News he said that the town was in "very good shape," and that none of the roads in the town had been flooded or closed.
Due to the park's relatively low elevation and a creek that runs through the middle of it, residents say the park floods pretty often, and that it's just a part of life in the town.
