State of Emergency for Deposit, Sanford lifted

Posted: Updated:

(WBNG) -- Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has lifted the State of Emergency for the village of Deposit and the town of Sanford.

Heavy rainfall Tuesday afternoon caused extreme flash flooding, dangerous road conditions and left several buildings with basement flooding.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar met with Broome County Office of Emergency Services Director Michael Ponticello and Deposit Mayor Bryan Moore Tuesday night before declaring the State of Emergency.

Garnar's office says the lift will be effective at 4 p.m. Thursday.
