BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Binghamton High School welcomed back students Wednesday night with a courtyard bash.

The event was hosted by a variety of student run programs.

It took place in the High School courtyard.

There were multiple fun activities for students and families to be a part of. These included Tie Dying shirts, food, games, and a visit from the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park made the event a special way to welcome families back.'

Steve Giannini, a business teacher at Binghamton High School, spoke about the event.

"We want the kids to feel like they're coming home, that school is a great place to be, its fun and we just want them to enjoy the new school year," said Giannini.

This was the first back to school bash BHS has held, they hope to make it an annual event.
