VESTAL (WBNG) -- The community came together once again Tuesday, to raise money for the Super Cooper Memorial Playground.
Cooper Busch, also known as Super Cooper, passed away in May after a two-year-long battle with leukemia.
Since Cooper's passing, the Busch family has made it their mission to raise enough money to build a playground in his memory.
Molly Wike, a friend of the family, contributed to the fundraiser by collecting bottles and cans at her work, the Willow Point Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
A co-worker then suggested taking it a step further with a basket raffle.
"The response I got was just overwhelming, you'd be surprised how many people want to reach out and help," said Wike.
She gathered gift cards from local businesses and baskets to raffle off at the event.
"It's easy to help, I mean I want to help, I want to do it, it means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to the Busch family."
After sharing the story behind the fundraiser, Willow Point resident Mary Grecko said, "I think that's wonderful, I think that's very nice, I did something to help out.
"It's such such an awesome thing that's going to be in his memory, it's also going to let the community enjoy it," said Wick, "I know that they're going to raise the money and the funds to build this awesome playground."
