MORRIS, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Police say charges are pending after a car burst into flames during a police chase.
The chase happened Wednesday afternoon on State Route 23 in the Town of Morris, according to a Facebook post on the Otsego County Sheriff's Office page.
The post states a deputy attempted to pull a car over for speeding, but the car would not pull over, which started a chase through the Village of Morris.
At one point, deputies say the car's engine exploded and caught the car on fire when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle.
Members of the Morris Fire Department put out the fire.
Deputies took the driver into custody and charges are pending, according to the sheriff's office.
