Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Otsiningo Park was host to the 23rd annual Roadkill sevens rugby tournament, sponsored by the Binghamton Barbarians rugby team.

12 men's teams and six women's teams come to the Binghamton area to compete for the tournament title.

Unlike traditional 15 player rugby, this tournament features seven players per side, which is the same type of rugby that will be played in the upcoming London Olympics.

"Sevens rugby is a lot faster and more exciting. There's a lot more scoring and it's a lot easier to follow if you're not familiar with rugby so for the spectators, sevens is the game," said tournament director Joe Longo.

Monmouth from New Jersey won the tournament for the second year in a row.

Albany took home the women's tournament title.

The tournament got it's name from comments by teams that had to travel along the highways coming to Binghamton and see a lot of road kill on the side of the road.

One player was overhead saying he liked going to the Roadkill tournament and the name stuck.
