BCC Students Help B-Sens Keep Track of the Action

Students from Broome Community College will give you a new way to keep track of the action at B-Sens games.

The Binghamton Senators were having the old shots-on-goal counters replaced.

So it turned to Broome Community College and its Electrical Engineering Technology program for help.

Since last fall, teachers and students in the program have been designing and building new state of the art displays.

Two of teachers were at the Veterans Memorial Arena to remove parts of the old shots-on-goal boards.

The boards are about 30-years-old and have seen their last season.

"The biggest thing I guess is reliability right now because we were living with the fear for the last year that these signs were going to stop functioning," says BCC Instructor Don McCarty.

By having BCC take on the project, the Senators say they'll save thousands of dollars, and the students gained valuable experience.

The new shots on goal counters are expected to be installed by the end of the month.
