Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More than 100 people from all over the globe visited Binghamton to learn more about Asian culture and lifestyle.
The New York Conference on Asian Studies welcomed 160 people who specialize in Asia to speak on their focus.
Professors and students gave presentations and read papers on their Asian perspective, which ranged from different countries, different lifestyles, history and economy.
This is the third time the statewide conference has been held in Broome County.
"This is the first time we've held it downtown, we've always done it on campus. So this is the first time we've actually brought it out of the school," said Binghamton University professor Michael Pettid.
The academic conference is Friday and Saturday at the Holiday Inn.
Pettid says next year's conference will be held at Hofstra University.
