State College, PA (WBNG Binghamton) Another new era is beginning for Penn State Football. The beginning of this season marks the start of the James Franklin coaching regime for the Nittany Lions.
After two years of Bill O'Brien, the former Vanderbilt coach becomes Penn State's fourth different coach in the last four years.
A new coach can mean a lot of change for a team, but Penn State's quarterback says it doesn't change the team's passion for winning football.
"You're going to go through change in every facet of life. Applying it to football -- which is something we all love to do -- I think we've all done a very good job of that," said Christian Hackenburg. "A lot of these guys have been used to change. Transitioning from Coach O'Brien to coach Franklin has been pretty smooth. We're really excited about what coach Franklin brings to the table. We've all bought in and are ready to go to battle for him."
Penn State begins the season August 30th against Central Florida in Dublin, Ireland.
