Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) If Chenango Forks senior Kellsey Wiser started as a blank sheet of paper, by this point in her life, she's filled it up pretty well.

"I like being able to see a finished product, and that's kind of like how it is with school," said Wiser. "I can start with not understanding a concept or having zero words on a paper and finally seeing it done, you're like, I did it."

She's been able to say those words a lot in school, ranking 16th in her class. That's one of the reasons why lacrosse has become her favorite sport.

"You can go from being down by four with five minutes left to end up winning by two just because of all the teamwork and working together," she said.

On the field, her coaches say she's the quarterback of the defense and she helped guide Forks within a goal of the Section IV finals this year.

But if Kellsey was a blank piece of paper, those accomplishments would be written on one that is awfully bright.

"She is without a doubt one of the bright spots on the team in terms of always coming to practice with a smile, always making sure things are like, she keeps things upbeat, and when it gets a little intense out here she always knows how to bring us back down to earth," said Chenango Forks girl's lacrosse head coach Michael O'Hearn. "She sees the fun in everything."

That's one of the things she prides herself on.

"You should be happy, everyone should smile," said Wiser. "So my goal is to make everyone smile in a day and be happy."

Kellsey has one more thing to fill that piece of paper, she's this week's Academic All-Star.
