"We just knew he had that in him. We are starting to see that more and more. He's becoming more and more confident and trying different things. It's a lot of fun just to watch him go at it."

Making his first game at quarterback in the rivalry game against Chenango Valley, Chenango Forks Senior Casey LaNave attempted one pass, and that was batted down at the line of scrimmage.

But the Forks game plan is never through the air. It's on the ground.
As we are back it was his job to make decisions in the option, to hand the ball to fullback Jim Miller or to keep it.

And based on their 334 yards on the ground and a 20 to nothing win, it's safe to say he made the right calls.

Coach Dave Hogan says, "He does a very good job reading that, yes a very very good job. Of course, when Jimmy is hitting that hole in getting yardage is tough. As a defense, you have to go after him. It makes it tough on defense when you read it like Casey does."

Fullback Jim Miller says, " Yeah Casey is unbelievable. He'll wait till the last second to take the ball out of my stomach. I got tackled a lotof times when I didn't even have the ball, and he is around the corner already . He runs it to perfection really."

And as a two-way starter Casey also had an impact in the passing game. He intercepted two passes.
