Town of Columbus, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An ammonia leak sends two employees to the hospital at the Chobani plant in Chenango County.

Just after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, officials found an ammonia leak in a chill tunnel at the New Berlin facility.

The plant was evacuated, and two employees were taken to UHS's Chenango Memorial Hospital for precautionary monitoring.

Both employees have since been released and are in good health.

Chobani officials say the leak was caused by a contractor working on an air conditioning line in the chill tunnel.
