Police search for robber, offer reward

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Police Department is offering a reward for the arrest and conviction of an armed robber.

The offer stems from an armed robbery of 5 Star Deli and Convenience Store Saturday night.

Police responded to the deli at 60 Oak Street around 8:30 p.m.

Police said they are searching for the suspect and are offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

They believe the suspect is connect to a string of recent robberies.

He is described as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a muscular build.

Police said he was wearing a Henley style long sleeve shirt, black gloves, dark pants, a black open face ski mask and sunglasses at the time of the robbery. Police said it appears he had a silver-colored handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Binghamton Police Detective Bureau at (607)772-7080 and refer to the case as #13-40013.

New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office also responded.
