(WBNG Binghamton) Free wine and beer tasting, live music and a local art contest. It's all part of the Sherwood Hotel's centennial celebration.

The Sherwood in Greene, NY is about to celebrate it's 100th anniversary!

To commemorate the occasion The Sherwood has joined together with the Arts Council of Greene to host an Open House and Art Walk on Wednesday May 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm.

We purchased The Sherwood in October and have been doing extensive renovations to the building.

We have plans to reopen in the end of June as a hotel, restaurant, and bar.

The entire community has been incredibly supportive, and is anxiously awaiting our reopening.

The May 1st Centennial Celebration will be the first time we open for the public to see what we have been doing.

The Sherwood is hosting an Art Contest, $1000 Art Scholarship, a 16 piece band playing on the front porch, and will have a 3D anniversary cake by a local baker.

A proclamation from Senator Libous will be read. Visitors will be able to stroll the downtown business district, visit area businesses, and view artwork on display by area artists.

Other businesses are sponsoring face painters, a caricature artist, and much more.
