(WBNG Binghamton) How can you keep your child reading throughout the summer? Peggy Kucko and Julie Lamuraglia came by to talk about a "book mobile."

The Johnson City Central School District kicked off its Wildcat Bookmobile program on Wednesday, June 26.

The "library on wheels" is a converted JC school bus that is visiting area parks each Wednesday through the end of August offering new and used books for school-age children.

The books are available as one-week loans.

Bookmobile weekly schedule:
Floral Avenue Park (57-57 Floral Avenue, JC) 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Handicapped Children's Association (18 Broad Street, JC) 11-12 p.m.
C. Fred Johnson Park (near Walmart in JC) 12:15-1:15 pm
Green's Field (Northside Park off Harry L. Drive) 1:30-2:30 pm

The goal of the bookmobile is to promote literacy and keep kids reading through the summer months.
