(WBNG Binghamton) A benefit for the Clark-Dewey family who was involved in a fatal car accident this past summer in Oxford.

David Clark (father was killed), Lorielei (mother) is undergoing extensive rehabilitation, four children & a teenage family friend were seriously injured.

The event, "Concert for the Cause" is going to be held Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th at the Oxford High School.

Friday night the event will begin with a Baked Ziti dinner at 5 p.m. in the cafeteria. The Oxford High School is in the process of collecting donations and organizing the dinner. In addition, local businesses & individuals are providing raffle items. These items will be displayed both nights & disbursed at the concert Saturday. You do not need to be present to win. The entertainment for the event will begin both nights at 7 p.m.

There is a star studded cast of performers from the surrounding area who will be singing, dancing, acting, and playing musical instruments for the audiences entertainment.

Claus Evans, well known for his performances with the Cider Mill Playhouse, TriCities Opera, Glimmerglass, and many community theater performances, will take the stage. Additionally, 15 year old, NY State Country Music Hall of Fame Horizon Award recipient & WHWK Hitmaker Challenge winner, Kaitlyn Jackson will join the night's entertainment, along with community favorites Gail Murphy, John Jackson, Alan and Colleen Hopson, Jenny Larcher, and Michael McCormack. The Oxford Community Band & the Francis Wilcox Brass Quintet will also be showcasing their talent throughout the night, along with other local artistic individuals.

In addition, businesses & individuals from the community are stepping up to assist with this fundraiser by donating items for a benefit dinner before the show & a raffle.

Event organizer and director, Gail Murphy is very passionate and excited about the event. Mrs. Murphy is the general music teacher at Gibson Elementary School in Norwich and is well-known for her stellar theatrical performances and directing. This event is very special for Gail because she is a neighbor and had Brianne (one of the children injured in the accident) as a music student when they lived in Norwich. Her hard work and effort has brought together a top notch cast for two nights of entertainment. Not only will you be thoroughly entertained, but you will be helping a family who has had to endure extreme hardship.

Tickets for the event may be purchased at the door. The dinner Friday night is a free-will donation. Admission for the show is a $10 donation for adults, $5 for students ages 10-18, and free for children 9 and under. All proceeds will be placed in a trust fund benefiting the children of the Clark-Dewey family & Emily Renfield.

If you would like to provide an item for the raffle or make some form of donation, please contact Gail Murphy at (607) 843-6872.
