(WBNG Binghamton) Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure, announced the park will be getting a giraffe for the 2015 season.
Patch made arrangements for Oliver, or Ollie the giraffe to travel to his new home at Animal Adventure next spring.
At the age of 2, Ollie already stands a proud ten feet tall at his current home, The Kalahari Resort's Safari Adventures.
Ollie loves to greet guests and always appreciates and eagerly accepts a carrot gift.
He will make the journey from Sandusky, Ohio to Harpursville in Spring 2015, marking a Broome County milestone. It has been 50 years since giraffes were exhibited in Broome County.
Animal Adventure will be raising funds to help build the appropriate housing and exhibit, and acquire its first giraffe, Oliver.
Exhibit design will include an elevated platform for hands on interaction with one of earth's most magnificent creatures.
Local businesses can contact us to have an Ollie Box brought to their location, to be displayed on checkout counters and reception desks.
