Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

After a long winter, baseball is officially back in Binghamton.
The B-Mets were at NYSEG Stadium for their first workout.

There's a lot of excitement that the playoffs are in the future for the B-Mets this season.
Not that spring training means much, but the Mets went 8-4-1 in the exhibition season.
New manager Wally Backman is excited about the potential for this year's team.

"The guys played good fundamental baseball in spring training and the pitching was outstanding so the things I look for in a pitching staff, the bullpen is what I'm most excited about."

Josh Satin adds, "I expect us to do well. We have a lot of guys coming back from last year, guys with experience, guys who had some successes here so I expect a lot of wins. We've got a very potent lineup and our pitching staff has a lot of guys that had success here last year."

You have a chance to meet the members of this year's team.
The B-Mets are hosting a welcome back dinner Tuesday night at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel and Conference Center.

Players will arrive for an autograph session at 5:30, dinner starts at 7.
You need a ticket to get into the event.
