Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Senators will take the ice for their opening match Saturday night at seven against the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins.

Arena workers have been prepping the stadium all week for opening weekend.

Players are pumped to return to the ice after a less than spectacular season last year.

The team hopes to get back to their winning ways, and said tomorrow's crowd will be a big part of it.

"Opening night is always electric," said veteran defenseman Eric Gryba, "And we want to utilize that to our advantage. And if they go home happy, then they usually come back."

"I'm expecting a good crowd, people are excited," said head coach Luke Richardson, "We went 3 and 0 in the preseason and they're excited to see what we can do on the ice tomorrow."

New players are excited to see what playing for the Senators is really like.

"I heard this town is crazy for the hockey team, " said rookie left winger Jakob Silfverberg, "So I just want to get into the game and see how the fans are. And play as good as I can.

The team won the Calder Cup in 2011, and hopes to find that magic again this season.
