Houston, TX (WBNG Binghamton) Before game 6, the B-Sens said they would win the series for assistant coach Steve Stirling.
He had quadruple bypass surgery the day before the team left for Houston and had to stay behind.
But he definitely was not forgotten.
When Captain Ryan Keller was presented the Calder Cup, he carried Stirling's name plate with him.
To show he was a part of the win, even if he wasn't in Houston.
"He's everything. He's our rock. He's great. It's terrible he can't be here with us right now but we can't wait to get back to him," says captain Ryan Keller.
After landing back in Binghamton, the team headed straight for UHS Wilson Medical Center to visit Coach Stirling to allow him a little celebration with the Calder Cup.
