Kirkwood, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After a thrilling week at En-Joie, the Champions tour pros are on to the next tour stop in Montreal.

That gives our resident golfer a chance to get out and explore another local course.

This week, Action Sports director Brendan O'Reilly stops at the River Run II golf course in Kirkwood for our BNG Golf Bargain hole of the week.

"The second stop on our BNG Golf Bargains takes us to the River Run 2 Golf Course, and the owner and course designer Al Gorick is joining us on the 9th tee box. All I see standing in front of me is a lot of sand, and an elevated green. What do I have to worry about on this par 4 hole?"
"This par 4 is the ninth hole here and the idea here was it's not a long par 4, it's a risk and reward par 4. Take out a 3 wood or driver and try to go to the green and carry the bunker, but you've got to keep it on the green if you're going to do that. If you pull it left, you're going to go out of bounds, and if you go too far right you're going to be in high grasses. So it's a choice, whether you want to play it as a par 4 or you want to take the risk and reward," says Al Gorick, course designer and owner.

"I think I'm going to lay it up and play it smart and see if that pays off for me. Well if I thought all I had was sand in front of me off the tee, it's confirmed here. It's an intimidating look, one of those kind of feel shots, that's not really a set shot you have in the bag."

"That's correct. It's definitely a feel shot, green side about 100 yards, you've got the sand to carry in front, and if you pull it over the left, you've got sand behind as well."

"Any advice as to where I should try and land it? Maybe give myself a shot at a birdie here?"

"Well, probably right at the pin is going to be your best, because if you go a little bit to the right, the green's kind of off sloped to the right, and it'll want to come right back into the bunker."

"You would think the hard part is over, but you haven't seen me putt before. This is trouble here, it's going to move on me at the end."

"It's going to go a little bit to the right, everything wants to break a towards the bunker. So, left edge, you ought to be able to put it right in."

"Alright, we're going to finish off with a little tap-in for a par. You would think 230 yards, 4 would be a very easy score, but there's a lot in the way to try to get that number on the card."

"There is. I mean you can see it's a risk and reward hole even if you play it as a par 4 with an easy birdie. If you have a chance for a birdie putt, you still have to make the putt."

"Risk and reward, we'll settle with a par. That's the River Run 2 Golf Course on the BNG Bargains Golf Tour, now see how you can have some fun using the BNG Bargains."
