Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

A red hot day. Maybe too hot to golf?
Not for us.
We brave the elements to check out another course in our swing through the area.
Today the pro at Traditions sends us up the hill with a warning about what lurks off the left side of #5 on the bng golf bargains tour.

Hi, I'm Greg Bendert the golf pro here at traditions.
Today we'll be playing the 5th hole which is playing about 340 yards.
There's a little danger on the right with a creek on then up top on the left some risk-reward with a big oak tree that we like to call Ewing, and you'll see why.
I hit as good drive. Ideally on the right side of the fairway is where you want to be and that's where I ended up with a little baby fade. If I over do it I'll end up in the water hazard. I'm really happy with where I'm at.
I have about 90 yards to the middle, pin's up front so I'll play it 85.
One thing I'm happy about is I'm not left.
Like I said this big oak that has been around forever. We call it Ewing for a reason.
People try to go over it, under it...Ewing has a habit of swatting it down.

Didn't hit too bad a shot. Pushed it right but I'm putting for a nice little birdie attempt. Ideally you want to be below the hole...I think I can handle this one.

Pretty straight forward hole. You see all the trouble right and left.
Big Ewing on the left. I ended up with a par and I'm pretty happy with it. I'll take a par here almost any day of the week.
