Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University wrestler Cody Reed was suspended Thursday following his arrest by Binghamton police last Friday night.

Reed was arrested for criminal mischief and criminal trespass for allegedly attempting to enter a building he mistook for a friend's apartment. He was issued an appearance ticket for April 16 in Binghamton City Court.

Per the policy of the Athletic Department, Reed was suspended until further notice for violating the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.

Reed was one of four Bearcats to wrestle in the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, last month.

His arrest comes on the heels of Binghamton University head wrestling coach Matt Dernlan being suspended by the athletic department for his own alcohol-related run-in with the law following the NCAA Tournament.
