Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton police continue to investigate a homicide after a man is shot and killed early Friday morning.

Police said they found Sergio Beldo, 27, of 3 1/2 Cary St., in Binghamton, dead inside an apartment on Mather Street.

Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski said Beldo was shot in the chest with a long gun.

It happened at 12:49 a.m. at 30 Mather St., Apt 5.

Zikuski said one fatal shot was fired, but two weapons were displayed.

Binghamton police are looking for at least three black males, and possibly a fourth, who fled the scene in a car.

They could not provide more detailed descriptions.

BPD already began the search early Friday .

The investigation is still in it's early stages. BPD has a search warrant for the apartment, and they are looking into all angles.

"It could be gang related, could be drug related, could be a beef about somebody being disrespected, we don't know yet. So at this point, everything is on the board," Zikuski said.

Since Beldo did not live in the apartment he was found dead in, Zikuski says the next step is finding out why he was at 30 Mather St.

An autopsy was performed on Beldo's body Friday morning.

This is the second homicide in the city of Binghamton this year.
