After a very busy first quarter of the year, Union-Endicott grad Jon Jones has had time to relax.
He's been on the Tonight show, done countless other interviews, and even has his own beer commercial.
But now it's back to work.
Today the UFC confirmed that Jones will make his first title defense in UFC 135 against Quintin Rampage Jackson.
Jones won the light heavyweight title back in March but had to postpone a defense against former training partner Rashad Evans due to a hand injury.
Last week we spoke to Jones about how he plans to approach getting back into the gym.
"I train just as hard, I push myself like a champion. I gotta go even harder every day, for the opponent that I'm going against I figure he's a great boxer so I should work on my boxing defense a lot. Work on my take downs and my kickboxing and I think it's going to be a great fight."
Jones has said his hand injury effects his grip but not his punching power.
The two have verbally agreed to the title fight, but it isn't yet considered official.
UFC 135 is in Denver Colorado on September 24th.
