Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Businesses know the importance social media can have on their brand, but owners say there is no better connection than a handshake.
The 26th annual Greater Binghamton Chamber Expo brought nearly 100 local businesses together for a common goal.
The Expo focused on creating an opportunity for business-to-business networking to lead into future sales.
Owners say events like these leave them with pockets full of business cards of potential customers. They also take the time to see what other businesses are offering with their services.
"You get to tell about all your products and services you're selling, and also more importantly find out what everyone else is doing too," said Christopher DeWolfe, of North American Business Solutions. "So it's a great area to meet and greet people, collect some information and do some good networking."
Some businesses focused on attracting potential customers to their table. Curcio Printing set up games and giveaways, but employees say it's more than just a fun time, it's part of this company's networking strategy.
"When they're here and they're roping cows they're a little bit more relaxed and you get a better opportunity to talk a little bit more on a one-to-one basis," said Gina Curcio, of Curcio Printing. "It's just a more relaxed atmosphere rather than they're at work."
The Business Expo focuses on keeping relationships local, and it gives customers a chance to see what types of services are available from smaller companies.
The event is one of the largest business opportunities in the Greater Binghamton area.
The Career Expo ended with a networking reception among businesses and sponsors.
