Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More than 100 lots in Broome County will be up for auction next weekend.

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston announced the plans on Wednesday.

They have 135 properties on the auction block.

They range from vacant lots to houses to commercial lots.

"I'm really excited about this year and as you can see, this home here, for a young family starting out, this is a beautiful home," said Preston inside one of the homes up for auction. "It really, really is."

Some of the properties have code violations.

Preston says those houses will be marked to let buyers know what they're getting into.

Preston said the auction process will be cheaper for home buyers.

Rather than buying a new home or building one from scratch.

A number of the properties will have open houses this weekend.

The auction is on December 14 at 10 a.m. at The Holiday Inn Binghamton on Hawley Street.
