Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's the first day of summer and many came out to enjoy the sun with a little music.

Mike Kinney and Friends were the featured performers of the Brown Bag Lunch program in downtown Binghamton.

People came out, relaxed and danced to the tunes.

There was also a small farmers market.

Organizers and visitors say the weekly event is all about one thing.

"This is all about local, and and supporting local people, and we do this as a living, I sell baked goods, and then you've got some great honey, plants, vegetables, and its just a wonderful place go and support your local people," said Michelle Bernier, of German.

The Brown Bag Lunch continues every Friday until Aug. 30, featuring a new band each week.
