Candor, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The coaches of the Candor Indians say this year's team is young.

But the goal of the season is to still make the playoffs.

Candor returns several starters on offense, and 5 more on defense.

While the skill positions are in place on the offensive side of the ball, the offensive line is young, with 3 sophomores slated to start the season.

Players have been working hard during camp, with their eye on the first game of the season...the battle for the jug against rival Spencer Van-Etten.

"I think the first game of the season because everyone's getting wicked pumped up for the first game. We want to win, we want to come out doing good. Both teams haven't played a game yet so you gotta see what's going on...what the best looks are, but everyone's hyped for it," says senior linebacker Dan Pierce.

"For the older guys, we've been opening with it the last 2 years now but for the younger guys, they'll be hyped up more and want to play more, hopefully coming into the jug game wanting to win," says senior quarterback Harry Hartman.

The battle for the jug will be at Spencer Van-Etten this season, on Friday night, September 2nd.

Candor won the jug game last year, 21-14.
