Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A new occupant calls the Greater Binghamton Transportation Center home with grandma's cooking.

Broome County welcomed Elsie's Diner.

Elsie's is taking the place of the Twilight Diner, which was county owned.

The owners are leasing the space after getting the winning bid to take over its operation.

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston says it's a convenient meal option for those traveling in our region.

"We get a lot of travelers, a lot of interesting people. We get to meet and deal with new people and give them a chance to get some good home cooking while they are traveling through," said owner, George Slavik.

Elsie's Diner is a traditional American diner, serving breakfast foods, sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs.

The diner is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week.
