Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Several all-stars are set to hit the golf course Thursday to help raise money for area organizations.

On Wednesday, Security Mutual Life and the city of Binghamton announced the details of this year's Jim "Mudcat" Grant All-Star Golf Tournament.

It tees off Thursday at the Links at Hiawatha in Apalachin.

The tournament was founded 12 years ago by Security Mutual and former Major League Baseball player Jim "Mudcat" Grant.

More than 35 celebrities are joining Mudcat to play this year.

"We're only here for a little while and that's to help somebody as much as we possibly can. It makes all of the celebrities feel real good that they can help someone because that's what we're actually here for. I hope a lot of people believe that," said Grant.

The tournament raises money for four local organizations: The Broome County Urban League, Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton, Catholic Charities and the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW).

Binghamton Mayor Matthew Ryan declared Wednesday, Aug. 28 as Jim "Mudcat" Grant day in the city.
