Watkins Glen, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Who makes it into the Chase for the Sprint Cup may come down to a few hours on a road course in upstate New York.

Drivers were out on the track at Watkins Glen International, getting used to the road course.

It's one of only 2 road courses on the schedule each year, the other being in Sonoma.

The race at the Glen is just 90 laps long.

Meaning, any slip-ups, and your chances of winning are slim and none.

But drivers are still optimistic about their chances.

"We got to see a little different prespective of a couple of corners that I wanted to see but we're struggling a little bit to find the balance but we will keep working on it," says Tony Stewart, who has won 5 times at WGI.

"finished 2nd at Sonoma even though at times in that race we struggled, but at the end of ti we were very strong and so hopefully we can learn from that as well, come in here, attack this racetrack the way I feel you need to," says Jeff Gordon.

The Helluva Good Sour Cream Dips at the Glen is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
