Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Local Republican elected officials show their support for Republican mayoral candidate, Richard David.

The "Rally for Rich David" was hosted by Broome County Executive Debbie Presto at South Side Veteran's Park Tuesday afternoon.

More than a dozen elected officials held signs and spoke on the behalf of their candidate, including Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie and City Councilmembers Chris Papastrat, Joe Mihalko and John Matzo.

Each of them said David is the city's best choice, which David said was humbling.

"To have so many of them standing behind me and basically saying we support you, we believe in you, we are united behind you, and we are going to tell everybody that we can why we believe in you, that's a very gratifying feeling," David said.

David says he has been going door-to-door talking to the community to hear what they want to see in the city.

He says he will continue to reach out to the community throughout his campaign.
