Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Colors brightened the lawn at Traditions at the Glen for the annual Garden of Hope "Fiesta in the Garden."

The event is the first of three fundraisers that the Children's Home holds throughout the year.

The Children's Home, a not-for-profit organization that has served Broome County for more than 100 years, works to provide a safe place for children.

"I think it means a good deal to the kids," Chip Houser, President of Children's Home, said. "We get funding from the county and the state, but it doesn't cover everything. So this really enables us to provide more for our kids."

Proceeds from Saturday's event benefit projects for the health and safety of those the Children's Home helps.

Additional donations will help provide YMCA memberships, summer trips and equipment for sports teams.
