Four children killed in Elmira fire

Elmira, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Of the four people killed in a fire late Friday, none was older than 17.

According to CBS affiliate, WENY, Courtney Stanton,17, and her siblings Amera Mansour, 10, N.J. Mansour, 7, and Jordan Mansour, 5, were in the home when the first started late Friday night.

Elmira Police Department say crews responded around 9:30 p.m. to 104 Morrow St.

The fire department found the house fully engulfed, and four children on the second floor.

Neighbors and fire crews were able to work together to get the children out of the house.

The four victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment, but all four died from injuries from the fire.

The Elmira Police Department, Elmira Fire Department and the New York State Fire Investigation Bureau are investigating the fire.

Funeral dates have not yet been released, however friends and family have already gathered together to remember the children.

On Saturday, almost 200 people attended a candlelight vigil on Morrow Street.

A memorial remains outside the home with dozens of stuffed animals, flowers and candles.
