Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An annual holiday tradition has started up again in Owego.

The Tioga County Historical Society opened its 11th annual holiday showcase "O Tannenbaum" Saturday.

This year's theme is "Victorian Christmas."

Visitors can bid on more than 100 Christmas trees, wreaths, and other items up for auction. The society's gift shop will also be open for holiday shopping.

All the money earned will benefit the Tioga County Historical Society.

As the society nears its 100th anniversary, showcase organizers hope the event brings attention to the importance of community.

"This region is immensely important and has a great history and a great cultural history," said Kevin Lentz, the executive director of the society. "We hope to pass that on to folks to create a little bit more of community pride."

The showcase runs through Dec. 14, with extended hours beginning after Thanksgiving.
