Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) At the Binghamton Rotary Clubs weekly meeting, a local United Way representative spoke to the club about the impact they have in the community as well as how to spread around the funding they receive, with the goal of improving lives.
"We look at where the needs are more necessary. And what we do then, is allocate the funds in those areas where we find the needs will provide a greater value and benefit," said Leslie Howard, Director of Resource Development for the United Way of Broome County.
Howard also spoke about "Giving Tuesday."
It is a nation-wide movement that plays off Black Friday and Cyber Monday except it encourages people to donate to the community rather than spend money on themselves.
